St. Trophimus of Arles (d. 3rd century) was born in Ephesus. He was a gentile. He became a companion of St. Paul and accompanied him on his third journey. He became the first bishop of Arles (in today's southern France). He also went to Jerusalem where his presence in the temple started a riot.
