St. Alban was born in England. During the persecutions, Alban hid a priest in his house although he was a pagan. The priest made such a great impression on Alban that he converted to Christianity. The governor came to know the whereabouts of the priest, but when the guards came to capture the priest; Alban exchanged clothes with the priest and took the priest's place. The judge got angry when he saw that Alban was not the priest. The judge told Alban to worship the pagan God's or else he will get the same punishment that was awaiting the priest. Alban did not worship the pagan Gods and accepted the punishment. The judge sentenced Alban to be whipped and then beheaded. On his way to his beheading Alban converted the guard and the guard was also beheaded along with Alban. Alban was the first martyr of England.
St. Alban please pray for us to have such an impact on others that they turn to God through us.
