St. Melania the Elder (325 - 410) was a noble woman of the Roman Valerii family. She was one of the first Roman matrons to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, where she founded a monastery on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem.


St. Melania please pray for more monasteries to be founded to glorify God like you did.
