St. Cyril of Jerusalem (315 - 386) was the bishop of Jerusalem for 37 years. He was exiled for 16 of the 37 years from his own diocese because he courageously fought against the heresies that denied the divinity of Christ and the Holy Spirit. He was named the doctor of Church. St. Cyril taught us that our wounds and sins are not greater than the mercy of God. He encouraged Christians to frequent the sacrament of Confession.
St. Cyril of Jerusalem help us to make honest confessions with the willingness to receive God's mercy.
