Will

In the silence of our hearts God’s voice is the loudest, which is but a whisper. In one of these whispers, I felt it in my heart to truly give my sufferings and most importantly my will to be united with Jesus. We can comprehend this more accurately when we tailor our day in close union with Jesus. So how can we be so united with God that like St. Teresa of Calcutta we can also say: “Let them look up and see no longer me, but only Jesus!”

As soon as we start our day, we need to consecrate our day to God and let him have permission to take over our will and pray to God to use you to partake in God’s plan. And as our day goes by; keep listening to God’s voice. Through personal experience I can say that you will know it is God, because when it is God, every thought will be guided by love and mercy. For example: When a colleague who is a peer of you ask for your help with something, give them everything they need to be successful without a single thought or desire that you will be benefitted from that action in any way even if it means they will get credit for your work. You can do this as a Catholic, because the journey of your soul after this earthly life is far more important than anything else that the world has to offer.

Your reward in doing these small tasks throughout the day is that you get to be part of executing God’s will on earth and have the joy and peace in your soul. Ask Mary our mother and your guardian angel to help you, throughout your journey as it is not a physical task but an extremely spiritual experience to constantly be thinking about doing God’s will. Even if you constantly struggle like me, keep fighting the good fight and pick yourself up and continue the battle against the evil one.

Like everything, practice makes perfect and one day hopefully we will be in heaven with the most perfect of all – My Lord and my God.
