St. Terence (d. 250) lived during the period of the persecutions by Emperor Trajanus Decius. Terence along with Africanus, Pompeius, and a group of fifty companions were martyred under Emperor Trajanus Decius by being forced into a pit filled with serpents and stinging reptiles and those who survived the pit where beheaded.
