St. Lydwine (1380 - 1433) was born at Schiedam, Holland. In 1396 Lydwine was ice skating and a friend collided into her breaking one of her right ribs. She never recovered from this injury and became bedridden for the rest of her life. An abscess formed inside her body which later burst and caused Lydwine extreme suffering. Lydwine suffered from various illnesses like headaches, vomiting, fever, thirst, bedsores, toothaches, spasms of the muscles, blindness, neuritis. She experienced mystical gifts, including super natural visions of heaven, hell, purgatory, apparitions of Christ, and the stigmata. Lydwine accepted her sufferings and offered up her sufferings for the sins of humanity.
St. Lydwine please pray for all the people who are sick at the moment especially our loved ones.
