St. Agape (d. 304) and her sisters Chionia and Irene were convicted of possessing scriptures. In 303 Emperor Diocletian had put out a decree (law) that possession of sacred scriptures were an offense punishable by death. The governor Dulcitius caught them possessing scriptures and told them to sacrifice to the pagan Gods but Agape and her sisters refused. They were burned alive for this offense.

St. Agape and sisters please help us have a deep love for God's word.
