St. Juan Diego (1474 - 1548) was born in Mexico. One day on his daily 15 mile trek to mass the Virgin Mary appeared to him. She was in a cloud surrounded by a rainbow. Juan was asked by Mother Mary to ask the bishop to build a church on that site. The bishop asked for proof that it was Mother Mary who asked him to build the church. Juan returned back with flowers that Mother Mary gave him. The bishop believed him since the flowers that he brought were not even from Mexico.

St. Juan Diego was beatified on May 6, 1990 by Pope John Paul II and canonized on July 31, 2002.

St. Juan Diego please pray for us to have a deep love and obedience for Mother Mary like you did.
