St. Polycarp was one of the few fortunate people who got to learn about Jesus from St. John the evangelist (Jesus own disciple). Polycarp being the second generation Christian was faced with the challenge to defend the true teachings of the church. There were several heresies (false teachings) that came about during his time, but Polycarp boldly proclaimed the true faith. Polycarp was known to have a mind grounded in God as an immovable rock. Polycarp died a martyr by being tied up and burned to death.

St. Polycarp please help us be bold to defend the true faith and keep our mind grounded in God.
