St. Gregory Nazianzen (325 - 390) was the friend of St. Basil and his Father, Mother, Brother and Sister were all saints as well. Once when St. Gregory was sailing from Alexandria to Athens, his boat was in a violent storm. He was extremely anxious during that time, because he was not baptized. He prayed to God to save his life and he vowed that he would dedicate his whole life for God. He kept his promise and became a monk and fought against the heresy of Arianism (Arius denied the divinity of Jesus). St. Gregory is often called the "Trinitarian Thelogian" because he mentioned about the Trinity in every homily.
"Like an unwandering star beaming with splendour,
Thou bringest us by mystic teachings, O Father,
To the Trinity's sunlike illumination,
O mouth breathing with fire, Gregory most mighty".
- Alexius Anthorus
