St. Berard and companions (d. Jan 16, 1220) was a Franciscan monk and he left Italy and went to preach the gospel around the world along with his fellow friars. When they were in Morocco preaching the gospel a Sultan asked them to stop preaching. They did not stop. They were later tortured and beheaded by the Sultan himself. Their relics were later brought to Portugal and this inspired a young boy to joy the Franciscan order and go to Morocco the next year. This young boy was St. Anthony of Padua.
St. Berard help us to be bold to preach the gospel with love for God.
