St. Agnes (291 - 304) was a beautiful young lady who came from a wealthy family. She was so pretty that every guy wanted to marry her including high ranking officials. But St. Agnes said that Jesus Christ is my only spouse and she made a promise to God that she would never stain her purity. The son of a governor tried to marry her, but when she refused he got angry and the governor tied her chains but her face shone so brightly. He then condemned the young girl to be dragged through the streets naked, but her hair miraculously grew so full and covered her whole body. When they tried to burn her at the stake the fire did not cause her any harm. The officer finally beheaded her with a sword and she died a martyr.

St. Agnes please pray for all the young girls in this world to be protected by evil men.
