St. Thorfinn (d. Jan 8, 1285) was a monk and got exiled by King Eric of Norway for supporting the Archbishop of Nidaros in a dispute of interference of church matters. When St. Thorfinn died, Fr. Walter de Muda another monk who knew him wrote a poem on a parchment and hung it over his tomb. The poem described him as a kind, patient and generous with a mild exterior and firm will against the evil and ungodly. No one paid much attention to his tomb until 50 years later during a church renovation when his tomb was opened and his remains gave off a strong and pleasant perfume.
St. Thorfinn please help us be a fragrant offering to God in our ways on earth daily like you were when you walked the earth.
