St. Acestes (d. 1st century) was one of the soldiers who was supposed to escort St. Paul the Apostle to his death. Acestes and two other soldiers were converted by Paul during their brief encounter. Acestes and the other two soldiers were horrified by the death of St. Paul that they declared their faith before everyone who were onlookers at the martyrdom of St. Paul. This resulted in Acestes and the other two soldiers to be beheaded.

St. Acestes please pray for us to be able to see God's presence even during the last moments of our lives.
