St. Paula Frasinetti (1809 - 1882) was born in Genoa, Italy. Her brother was a parish priest in the city and she helped him by teaching the poor children in his parish. She started teaching the kids in 1834. From this humble beginning Paula began the Congregation of St. Dorothy to serve the poorest and most needy youth, which soon spread across Italy and then the Americas. She was beatified in 1930 and was canonized in 1984 by St. Pope John Paul II. Her body was reported to be found incorrupt (not having undergone decomposition) in 1906.
