St. Eurosia (d. 714) was born in a noble family in Bayonne, France. She was promised in an arranged marriage to a Moor (a muslim) in marriage. Eurosia escaped so as to not enter into this marriage and hid in a cave. Unfortunately the smoke from the fire in her cave led to her capture. She was dragged from the cave by her hair and slain at Jaca in the Pyrenees of Aragon, Spain. She is known as the protectress of Jaca.
