St. Vincenza Gerosa (1784-1847) was a native of Lovere, Italy. She was originally named Catherine. Vincenza was orphaned at a young age. She spent her life aiding to the poor. About 1824, she and St. Bartolomea Capitanio founded the Sisters of Charity of Lovere to help the poor and sick and educate children. After the death of Bartolomea in 1833, Vincenza assumed the directorship of the Order and expanded its efforts until her death after a long illness. She was canonized in 1975 by Pope Paul VI.

St. Vincenza please pray for us to have friends like your friend St. Bartolomea who will guide to us to do great things for God.
