St. Constantine was the King of Cornwall. He was married to the daughter of the King of Brittany. When she died he handed over the kingdom to his son and went to become a monk at the St. Mochuda monastery. He performed menial tasks at the monastery. He studied for priesthood and became ordained as a priest. He then went as a missionary to Scotland. In his old age he was attacked by pirates and they cut off his right arm and he bled to death. He is regarded as the first martyr of Scotland.
