St. Fina (1238 - 1253) was a beautiful young girl and when she was small her parents had some money. But later they became extremely poor and even though they had very little to eat Fina always kept half of what she ate for others who were poorer than her. Later her father passed away and about the same time she got a sickness which affected her head, hands, eyes, feet and internal organs and she ended up paralyzed. Her mother who took care of her, used to keep her on a wooden board next to a crucifix while she went to work. Fina used to look up at the cross and say: "It is not my wounds but thine, O Christ, that hurt me". Then when she was still young her mother also died and this left Fina all by herself with no one to take care of her. She had one good friend Beldia who came and took care of her. Fina then prayed to St. Gregory to help her have patience in her afflictions. Eight days before her death, St. Gregory appeared to her and said: "Dear child on my festival God will give you rest". Fina's vision came true and before she died she raised up her hand and touched her friend Beldia and healed Beldia's injured arm. When the people moved her body from the wooden board there were white violets covering the place.

St. Fina help us in our afflictions to join our suffering to Christ's wounds like you did during your days of suffering.
