St. Joseph (90 B.C. - 18 A.D) was the husband of Mary and the foster father of Jesus. He was a carpenter and a working man and we know that St. Joesph was not rich because from the scripture we see that during Jesus' circumcision St. Joseph offered turtle doves or pigeons and that was offered by people who could not afford a lamb. St. Joseph was an extremely caring, merciful and loving individual. When Mother Mary was pregnant with Jesus before the wedding St. Joseph was planning to break of the engagement with Mother Mary. This would have made St. Joseph look like the one who abandoned his betrothed and the child (presumed as St. Joseph's child). St. Joseph was ready to take on that suffering to protect Mother Mary from any shame.

St. Joseph help us be a good and honest person like you and be filled with mercy for our fellow human beings.
