St. Dismas was the good thief who was crucified along with Jesus. The other thief's name was Gestas. There is a myth about Dismas and Gestas which is not proven to be true and it is from the Arabic gospel, but yet interesting. The myth goes that Dismas and Gestas, the two thieves, held up St. Joseph, Mother Mary and baby Jesus on their way to Egypt. Dismas bought off Gestas with forty drachmas to leave them and this act of goodness in Dismas' heart along with him supporting the goodness of Jesus on the cross brought him the mercy of God.

St. Dismas help us to create some good in our sinful lives so that we too like you might be blessed by the mercy of God to be in heaven one day.
