St. Guy of Pomposa (b. 1046) was born in Italy. He gave all that he had to the poor. He spent three years as a hermit on the island of Po River. He became an abbot (lead monk in a monastery) of St. Severus. He was also a great spiritual advisor and people went after him to get spiritual advice.
