St. Stephen of Obazine (1085 - 1154) was a priest in France. He made sure that he would always recite the Divine Office daily and only missed it if there was a grave necessity. One lent he and a like minded priest decided to live as hermits. They found a deep forest with a water stream and decided to camp there for the entire lent and lived as hermits. When they returned back for Easter they became sad that nobody invited them for an Easter meal. So they both decided to go back to the forest. On the way back, when they stopped near a mountain because they were weak and hungry, they met a lady who offered them half a loaf of bread and a vessel of milk. Stephen later said that it was the most delightful meal he had ever tasted. The place where they lived as hermits later became a Cistercian monastery, with Stephen as abbot (lead monk).
St. Stephen pray for us to get the helping hand when in times of our physical needs.
