St. Basilissa was also known as Basilla. She was a member of a noble Roman family. She converted to Christianity. She was asked to marry Pompeius, a Roman patrician (noble man). But Basilissa refused to marry Pompeius on account of her faith. Pompeius asked Emperor Galienus to put the pressure on Basilissa to marry Pompeius. But when Basilissa stood steadfast in her faith Emperor Galienus ordered for her to be beheaded.

St. Basilissa please pray for us to surround our lives with people of faith or convert the ones to God through our loving actions.
