St. Euphemia (d. 307) was invited to attend a pagan ceremony. For love of Christ she refused to attend the pagan ceremony. Because of this act she was tortured and then slain by a lion. She became known as the Virgin martyr of Chalcedon.

St. Euphemia please pray for us to be able to resist the temptations of the world like you did.
