St. Justus of Lyons (d. 390) was a bishop and recluse (lived in solitary life). He was born in Vivarais in Gaul and was made bishop of Lyons in 350. A prisoner sought sanctuary in Justus' cathedral. Justus gave the prisoner sanctuary, but the prisoner was later caught and put to death. This made Justus extremely sad and he left to Alexandria, Egypt, with a deacon, Viator. He became a hermit there and refused to return to Lyons.
St. Justus please pray for our bishops who lead the church to be always guided by the Holy Spirit.
