St. Francis Jaccard (d. 1838) was born in Onnion, Savoy, France. Francis was sent by the Seminary for Foreign Missions in Paris to Vietnam in 1826. He was martyred by strangulation. Francis is now recorded as a martyr for Vietnam. Francis was canonized in 1988.
