St. John of Nicomedia (d. 303) was a Christian in Nicomedia, who is called Euthis in the Syrian Church. He tore up an imperial Roman decree declaring the persecution of Christians when it was put on display in the city forum. John was burned alive as a result.

St. John of Nicomedia please pray for people who are persecuted for the faith today.
